Obituary for Barbara Ann Della Peruta

Barbara Della Peruta began her bountiful journey 77 years ago in New York, NY. On Thursday, July 13, 2017, she placed her final touches on the canvas of this life and passed her light on to the next.

A graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in Bound Brook and Bound Brook High School, Barbara was a longtime resident of Hillsborough, NJ, having previously lived throughout central NJ and the shore area.

A talented and prolific artist, Barbara was best known locally for her paintings of our natural surroundings, and for the joy she felt in sharing them. She has served for many years as an officer of the Blackwells Mills Canal House association, most recently as President. Many of her works were based on the canal and the outdoors she so loved. Of her career achievements, her favorites were those that brought people and places together, including administrative roles at the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce and Hunterdon County Parks Commission. Above all, she was a positive, supportive friend, a loving mother and sister, and a strong and courageous woman.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents, James and Irene Stanislaski, and by her loving husband, Robert. She is survived by her adoring and grateful son, Scott, of Belle Mead; her devoted brother and sister - James Stanislaski, also of Hillsborough, and Dianne Sylvester, of Ft. Myers, FL; seven nieces and nephews; and numerous loyal and supportive friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Joseph's Church, 34 Yorktown Rd, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The family will greet friends at 10:00 AM at the church, followed by a Mass at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation and/or Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center (https://tinyurl.com/bdpmemorial).
