Obituary for Albert C Wund

Albert C. Wund, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Al was born in Mount Kisco, NY in 1947 and spent his childhood years in Hackensack, NJ where he attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and later graduated from Hackensack High School. In 1970, he graduated from NYCCC with an Associates Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. It was there that he met his wife of 48 years, Susan. Al and Susan raised their family in Somerset, NJ and later moved to Hillsborough, NJ in 1995. Al spent most of his career in automobile finance management.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed history, model trains, the outdoors and traveling. Following the passing of his daughter in 2004, he devoted much time, love and energy to his family’s Foundation that supports breast cancer patients throughout the United States, who are in financial need. Al continued this work throughout his own battle with cancer up until weeks before his passing. He was honored to serve as an active member of the Millstone Valley Knights of Columbus Council #11415.

Al loved his family above all else. He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Palella), his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Jill (nee Williams) of Yardley, PA, his sister Gloria Carfi of Melbourne, FL and his granddaughters Caitlin Walsh, Olivia Wund and Maya Wund. He is pre-deceased by his parents Albert and Winona Wund and his daughter, Christina Walsh (nee Wund).

The Funeral will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on behalf of Albert to the Christina S. Walsh Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 401, New Brunswick, NJ 08903.
