Obituary for Douglas S Hill

Douglas Scott Hill, 64

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Scott Hill announces his unexpected passing on January 6th, 2021 at the age of 64. Douglas was born on July 22, 1956 in Somerville, New Jersey to Charles and Joan Hill. Douglas will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary Ann Lukas-Hill and his children, Shauna Lee Rucker (Chris), Chistopher Hill, Vanessa Zamarin (Nicholas), and Frank Tumminia (Jacquelyn). Douglas will also be fondly remembered by his ten grandchildren, Damien, Addison Renee, Travis, Hazel, Zackary, Hayden, Roman, Leo, Jett, Rilo, and his sisters, Robin Harenza, Tracy Theissen, and Sharon Kimock.

Douglas was truly a renaissance man and truly loved life and laughter! Douglas retired as a Senior Master Mechanic after 34 years of service. In addition to his massive library of paperbacks which he'd read over the years, he also read over 100 e-books per year in the past four years on his e-reader. Growing up in Hillsborough, Douglas was a multi-sport athlete in high school earning varsity letters in football, baseball, and basketball and went on to earn a baseball scholarship to Wake Forest University. Later in life, Douglas developed an affinity for golf, pool, and hunting - and naturally excelled at all of them.

Douglas had a calm deemer. He was even-keeled to the point where he could fall asleep at a moment's notice. For example, as a loyal member of the American Poolplayers Association, Doug played tournaments at a wide variety of venues. One time, between matches Doug managed to fall fast asleep leaning against a speaker that was blaring music.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Douglas will be announced at a later date. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Douglas to the Canine Companions For Independence - https://p2p.onecause.com/canine-companions-diy/frank-tumminia.
