Obituary for Lillian F Haszko

Lillian Haszko, 86, died peacefully on January 1, 2019 at her home in Columbus, NJ.

A lifelong resident of Carteret, NJ, she lived in Columbus since 1999 . Lillian was a 1949 graduate of Carteret High School and the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Capik) Fedlam. Lillian took great joy in raising her family and later worked as Municipal Court Clerk for the Borough of Carteret from 1988 until her retirement in 1998.

A faithful member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Carteret, she was active for many years in several of its organizations including the Widows and Widowers Group.

Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley Haszko and her wonderful brother Stephen D. Fedlam.

She is survived by two children, Karen Taylor and her husband John of Bristol, PA; Kevin Haszko and his wife Elaine of Bloomfield, NJ; three grandchildren Sarah Cerone (Jonathan), Rebecca Rivera (Miguel) and Kyle Haszko; her three great grandchildren Penelope, Jensen and Javier; and her caring sister Arlene Malovetz of Columbus, NJ.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for her on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 AM in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 47 Skillman Road, Skillman, NJ. Interment will be private.

To honor her memory, the family suggests donations be made to Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice ( in gratitude for the extraordinary care and comfort they provided.
